Job Type: Full-time;
In office 4 days, with 1 flexible day each week.
Location: Brecksville, OH to start, and transitioning to Wickliffe, OH in 2028.
As a R&D Operations Manager, you will be at the forefront of our innovation, leading operational excellence across Temp Rite R&D laboratories and testing facilities while developing a high‑performing technical team. You will collaborate with a variety of stakeholders to ensure safe, efficient, and effective execution of R&D initiatives.
How You’ll Make an Impact- Oversee daily operations and functional needs for Temp Rite applications and pipe testing facilities, ensuring safe and reliable laboratory operations.
- Lead, develop, and prioritize the daily activities of the R&D technician team, including safe handling and operation of laboratory equipment and chemistries.
- Embed safety, housekeeping, documentation, and training requirements into team culture and daily work practices.
- Develop and implement processes and systems that enable technicians to succeed while maintaining efficient laboratory throughput.
- Create and sustain a positive work environment by engaging regularly with employees on the laboratory floor and supporting project execution.
- Align individual objectives with departmental and organizational goals to maximize long-term business value.
- Ensure scheduling supports optimal operational effectiveness in alignment with business priorities and R&D project demands.
- Oversee equipment maintenance, contractor activities, and serve as first responder for operational maintenance and repair decisions.
- Maintain operational budget oversight, including ordering supplies, initiating purchase requests, and supporting capital expenditure planning and installation.
- Bachelor of Science in an engineering discipline (mechanical, chemical, or closely related field) or equivalent industrial experience.
- At least three years of supervisory experience in an R&D, manufacturing, industrial, or military environment.
- Knowledge of polymer processing and associated equipment.
- Strong interpersonal communication and presentation skills with a customer‑focused mindset.
- Demonstrated ability to think through second‑ and third‑order impacts of decisions with strong attention to detail.
- Self‑starter with a results‑oriented, continuous improvement mindset.
- Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and Copilot.
- Industrial or manufacturing process experience.
