Position Summary
The Relationship Manager (RM) will handle multi-faceted relationships by engaging prospective and existing clients to generate loans, deposits, and fees for a geographic area. The RM will determine credit eligibility, prepare loan narratives, ensure loans meet appropriate criteria, and cross‑sell a wide variety of products.
Responsibilities- Develop new and expand existing client relationships through proactive business development activities.
- Review clients’ current and changing financial needs and cross‑sell products and services.
- Maintain a profitable book of business (loans and deposits) to achieve individual sales and market goals.
- Qualify prospects by collecting and analyzing financial data to determine credit worthiness and evaluate loan requests.
- Prepare and oversee loan approval requirements, including underwriting and ensuring loan structure meets borrower and bank needs.
- Obtain appropriate credit approval and negotiate terms, pricing, fees, collateral, and repayment schedule.
- Manage portfolio performance, monitoring credit quality, past‑due credits, non‑performing loans, covenant compliance, and credit exceptions.
- Represent the bank in community, civic, and professional organizations.
- Assist the loan committee with submissions for approval.
- Provide client‑focused advice and recommend products that align with holistic client goals.
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Seven (7) years of proven relationship/account management experience selling banking products in the appropriate segmentation.
- Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks.
- Well‑developed analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Ability to generate new business through a consultative sales approach.
- Demonstrated sales and negotiating experience.
- Experience working with individuals and groups in managing customer relationships.
- In-depth product knowledge.
- Credit training, credit quality and underwriting experience, including financial analysis.
- Preferred:
Experience in Capital Markets and/or Lower Middle Market ($30MM+).
Base Salary: $130,000annually to $210,000annually.
All roles are incentive eligible, except Co‑Op, Intern, or Student positions.
