Ingredient Specialist

Ingredient Specialist, Brecksville, OH

We are seeking a qualified Ingredient Specialist, responsible for creating and maintaining food ingredient data to support new product launches. The role is accountable for analyzing and interpreting regulatory and functional requirements for ingredient data and collaborating across functions to oversee ingredient lifecycle processes and change management.

• Qualify new ingredients coordinating with Food technologists to support new product launches. Review and input ingredient data in accordance with regional and global standards. Ensure the data is accurate, reliable and relevant to market needs and is compliant with both Agrana and customer standards.
• Responsible for updating and maintaining the ingredient database. Escalate to and collaborate with R&D, Quality, Procurement, Ingredient Portfolio and Operations teams in the event of changes to the ingredients. Lead ingredient approval meetings to facilitate priorities, status updates and ingredient lifecycle management.
• Convert raw ingredient and supplier data into accurate, compliant, consumer‑facing labels, as well as managing new ingredient approval processes for experimental and commercial products. Ensure ingredient declarations meet regulatory requirements while remaining clear, consistent, and easy for consumers to understand.
• Report master data and raw material approval metrics and collaborate with cross‑functional teams to drive continuous improvement.
• Responsible for creation and revision of relevant documented information (SOPs, work instructions, etc.) to ensure organizational knowledge is available.
• Take on additional responsibility potentially identified within the scope of ingredient portfolio management.

• Strong skills for collaborating with other teams
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office
• Strong communication skills – written and verbal
• SAP experience preferred

• 1–3 years of relevant experience in R&D, Corporate Quality, Food specifications, Food Labeling or other relevant food manufacturing areas.
• Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Nutrition, Food Business or a related field.

Position requires on-site working at Brecksville, Ohio Company headquarters.
