Trade Compliance Mgr At Amgen Breda medicines are labelled, assembled, stored and eventually shipped to various countries worldwide. Every day more than 1000 people from 38 different nationalities are working on supply chain processes, manufacturing, marketing, and sales of our medicines and clinical research into new medicines.

What you will do As the Trade Compliance Mgr, you will be responsible for the integration of policy and executional activities for imports and exports in support of the entire Amgen organization. Providing program oversight for Trade Compliance established controls and global standards for regional execution.

  • Management of operational import and export activities, ensuring compliance with Amgen’s Trade Compliance policies as well as relevant customs and trade sanctions regulations.
  • Export Controls and Sanctions SME with responsibility for management of applicable export permits and licenses.
  • Provide Trade Compliance guidance and support to key stakeholders.
  • Act as escalation point of contact to support operational trade activities within the Global Trade & Customs Excellence team.
  • Monitor, analyse and interpret government regulations as they relate to customs and export control regulations.
  • Support Customs related audits and inspections.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to support corporate planning initiatives and provide Trade Compliance support.
  • Export control management and support with obtaining applicable export permits and licenses.
  • Interact with Customs and third parties to resolve customs issues and delays.
  • Collect and report on key transactional performance metrics.
  • Provide oversight and performance management of outsourced brokerage services.
  • Provide oversight of Customs Warehouse activities & Authorized Economic Operator (AEO) certification.
  • Support the establishment, documentation and periodic update of Trade Compliance processes and procedures.

What we expect of you The professional we seek has the following qualifications:

  • Master’s degree and 4 years of Trade Compliance experience or Bachelor’s degree and 6 years of Trade Compliance experience.
  • Certification in EU Customs related procedures.
  • Understanding of International Customs and World Trade Organization Regulations.
  • Advanced technical background and knowledge in global, regional, and European trade compliance (laws & regulations).
  • Preferably relevant experience in pharmaceutical, biotechnology, medical devices or healthcare industry.
  • Proficiency in understanding EU customs legislation and sanctions controls.
  • Versed in key customs processes including valuation, commodity classification, country of origin determination.
  • Experience in EU customs procedures and other complex customs matters.
  • Ability to build working relationships and effectively partner cross-functionally/cross-regionally and at all levels in the organization.
  • Continuous improvement mindset and process improvement focus.
  • Ability to leverage relationships with industry peers for benchmarking and to share best practices.
  • Ability to effectively navigate through ambiguity to resolve issues.
  • Excellent oral and written communication, facilitation, collaboration, and executive presentation skills.
  • Knowledge and understanding of GMP regulations and GDP requirements.
  • Self-starter with the ability to take on several projects at one time.
  • Experience or education in international trade law.
  • Initiator with analytical, problem solving and decision-making skills.
