Responsible for all electrical systems within the facility to ensure proper and safe operation of all equipment. Work with outside vendors to evaluate new technologies to be incorporated in the production process. Lead equipment control upgrades, as well as troubleshoot existing processes. Collaborate with maintenance electricians & other personnel to coordinate repairs.
SpecificDuties and Responsibilities:
- Evaluate new technologies to be implemented in the production setting.
- Coordinate with outside contractors for electrical repairs and components.
- Solicit bids for equipment repairs.
- Aid in the development of capital project requests related to equipment repair, new equipment, and other capital as needed by production.
- Contribute to equipment preventative maintenance tasks, schedules, and tracking.
- Troubleshoots and diagnoses equipment to determine repair needs and upgrades. This includes mechanical press problems, programmable controller problems, servo control problems, etc.
- Guide maintenance personnel’s daily activities to align with production requirements.
- A strong understanding of mechanical and electrical systems including VFD Drive, PLC’s etc.
- Ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues and analyze data to identify areas for improvement.
- Ability to effectively lead and motivate a team of maintenance professionals in a union environment.
- Be a champion for continuous improvement.
- Effectively communicate and interact with team members, vendors, and key stakeholders.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage schedule.
- Thorough understanding of equipment, plant, and OSHA safety regulations.
- Power press and/or roll forming experience a plus.
- Electrical Engineering Degree or equivalent experience in manufacturing field
- 3-5 years of manufacturing experience
- Personnel supervision experience preferred but not required
