SUMMARY
The Mechanical Engineer is responsible for supporting both pre‑sale technical and post‑sale detailed engineering activities. The engineer defines the technical solutions that are proposed and quoted to customers, develops detailed engineering to support the fabrication drawing package and bill of materials, and serves as the lead technical representative for assigned proposals, quotes, and projects.
RESPONSIBILITIESRegular and punctual attendance at work is an essential job function and is required of all employees.
- Evaluate customer‑supplied data (3D CADD files, drawings, scopes of work, and quality documents) to extract requirements that impact designs and the end product for quoting and detailed engineering.
- Actively engage with external customers, project managers, and the commercial team to discuss gaps in scope of supply versus customer requirements.
- Identify customer‑induced scope changes and escape them to the project manager or commercial lead for consideration.
- Develop P&’s from scratch or by redlining existing drawings to communicate project requirements to Estimators and Drafting staff.
- Perform equipment sizing calculations using process simulation software (Pro Max), in‑house spreadsheets, etc.
- Review and approve all 3D models and drawings for assigned projects in accordance with the company’s standard operating procedures.
- Perform process design calculations for control valves, pressure regulators, pressure safety valves, and pressure vacuum relief valves.
- Perform ASME pressure vessel code calculations using Codeware COMPRESS.
- Other duties as required and assigned.

REQUIREMENTS- Bachelor’s degree in Chemical, Mechanical, Petroleum, Electrical, or Instrumentation Engineering from an ABET‑accredited university.
- 3–5 years of experience working in a similar capacity in a manufacturing environment with engineered‑to‑order products.
- Knowledge of ASME, API, NFPA, ANSI, and other relevant standards.
- Experience applying NFPA requirements for electrical area classification to designs.
- Experience specifying and designing process control systems composed of pneumatic, electro‑mechanical, and electronic devices.
- In‑depth knowledge of national and international codes and standards for oil and gas process equipment design and fabrication.
- Experience working within multidisciplinary teams and managing work against safety, quality, cost, and time constraints.
- Ability to develop process equipment schemes and layouts from conceptual basis considering operability, maintenance, and safety.
- Multi‑tasking ability and ability to work well under pressure with multiple competing priorities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to comprehend project specifications and contract documents.
- Ability to review and comprehend P&’s.
- Strong interpersonal communication skills.
- Strong problem‑solving and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, Project, PowerPoint).
- Proficiency in Pro Max and Codeware COMPRESS.
- Must sit at a desk for extended periods of time and work on a computer.
- May be required to lift up to 15 pounds in an office setting.
- Must sit, stand, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, climb, and bend.
- Must see, speak, hear, and read.
- Must use fingers and hands to manipulate or utilize office machines.
- Must walk over both even and uneven surfaces.
- Must wear appropriate PPE.
- May require close vision, depth perception, ability to see small detail, and to adjust focus.
- Must be able to travel by car and airplane to other facilities if needed.
- Driving is an essential function of this position; a clean driving record is required.
