The OHB Simulator Software Team delivers simulation software for a variety of spaceflight missions. Our simulators are part of the test and training environment for satellite operations and are an integral part of the development and engineering toolchain for the satellite control software. Whether you have years of experience leading teams and building satellite simulators, or are eager to bring your software skills to the space industry — your responsibilities in our team would include:
- Design and development of satellite simulators, including the models of satellite equipment and the space environment
- Continuous improvement of the simulation framework, user front‑end and the test‑/debugging interfaces and tooling
- Tasks along full software lifecycle: requirements, architecture, design, code, test, integration and documentation
- Coordination with customers and internal software teams for design, for reviews and timely delivery of simulators
- Support for customer teams during mission preparation as well as during the maintenance phase of the simulators
- A degree in engineering with a major or PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or a comparable qualification
- Proficiency in modern C++, experience with Python
- Knowledge of federated simulation and co‑simulation techniques would be an asset
- Professional experience as (Simulator) Software Engineer or Technical Lead would be an asset
- Familiarity with Linux as a development environment, with frameworks like Qt and modern CI/CD tooling is a plus
- Experience in embedded software development is very welcome
- Experience with ECSS‑SMP tools/environments and software standards (e.g. ECSS‑E‑ST‑40C or DO‑178B) is an advantage
- Previous experience in the space sector with a focus on the ground station software would be an asset
- High motivation and independent way of working
- High communication, teamwork and time management skills
- Fluency in spoken and written English
