Our Community

The City of Bremerton is located on Puget Sound in Western Washington. Against the backdrop of the snow-covered Olympic Mountains, Bremerton is a waterfront community with miles of enticing shoreline and parks. The city has undergone an extensive revitalization over the past several years. The downtown has new hotels, a conference center, a county government facility and beautiful landscaping. It is dotted with small parks, including the award-winning waterfront Fountain Park and newly opened Quincy Square.

A relaxing one-hour ferry ride to Seattle provides a vast array of shopping, theater and sporting events (or use the fast ferry and get there in half the time)! As a well-recognized anchor for the community, the Puget Sound Naval Shipyard provides a strong Navy influence which is celebrated throughout the community.

Our School, Our Mission - Mountain View Middle School

Mountain View Middle School is located in East Bremerton and provides a comprehensive academic environment for 860 students, in grades 6-8, with a breathtaking view of the Olympic Mountains. The re-transformation underway at Mountain View Middle School is ongoing, but its direction is clear and compelling. No longer functioning in isolation, students, families, and staff are united in a shared commitment to creating a school environment where learning is intentional, relationships are rooted in trust, and every member of the community contributes meaningfully to collective success.

Together, we have established and aligned around clear academic and behavioral expectations that are consistently upheld across all areas of the school. Through this collaborative work, we have reaffirmed a foundational belief: we are not simply a collection of individuals striving independently-we are a cohesive team, growing and achieving together.

Principal of Mountain View Middle School

The primary purpose of this position is to lead and transform outcomes for all students by focusing on high levels of learning for all, family/community partnership, and high leverage teaching and learning practices. Our principals lead school efforts that align with the goals of the District strategic plan - which includes high expectations, focus on continuous improvement, high support, and culturally responsive practices.

Consequently, we seek a principal who:
