Olympic College is specifically recruiting adjunct faculty to teach the World Civilization sequence (HIST 126, 127, and 128). Candidates must be available to teach in person on the Bremerton campus and are dedicated to student-centered learning, closing achievement gaps, supporting diversity and social justice learning opportunities, and employ data-informed decision-making in their instruction.
Essential Functions- Teach in‑person classes on the Bremerton campus and distance classes as needed.
- Teach college‑level courses in accordance with the college catalog, schedule of classes, course outlines, syllabi, and departmental guidelines.
- Provide quality teaching including related preparation and grading.
- Provide class syllabi to students and the division office as requested.
- Maintain accurate records of students and complete required forms.
- May include evening instruction and/or instruction at satellite campuses.
- Communicate punctually with students, faculty, and staff.
- Perform other related duties as assigned and/or required.
- Master's degree in History from an accredited college or university.
- Previous teaching experience.
- Ability to teach World Civilization courses (HIST 126, 127, 128).
- Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office applications.
- College‑level teaching experience.
- Effectively teach and inspire excitement and enthusiasm in courses.
- Commit to teaching students with little or no background, as well as experienced students desiring to further their careers.
- Foster a climate of multicultural understanding and appreciation.
- Demonstrate success working with individuals and groups representing diverse cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds as well as military veterans.
- Incorporate accessibility and special needs accommodations via course materials and classroom activities.
- Communicate effectively and collegially, both orally and in writing.
- Demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills to collaborate and build rapport with colleagues, staff, and students.
- Incorporate technology in course delivery, including learning management systems.
- Show appreciation of diversity and the benefits of cultural awareness and sensitivity in the workplace.

Note:
Adjunct faculty are not eligible for benefits upon initial hire. Adjuncts must work 50 percent of a full‑time load for two consecutive quarters to become eligible. Additional hours at other SBCTC colleges may count toward this requirement.
Final salary contract will be determined based on educational qualifications and applicable credits.
