Responsibilities
- Prepare and teach college-level German Language courses as per college catalog, schedule of classes, course outlines, syllabi, and departmental guidelines.
- Provide quality teaching, including preparation and grading.
- Provide class syllabi to students and the division office.
- Maintain accurate student records and complete required forms.
- May include evening instruction.
- Communicate punctually with students, faculty, and staff.
- Perform other related duties as assigned or required.
- Master's degree in German Language or directly related field from an accredited college or university.
- Near-native fluency with teaching experience.
- College teaching experience desired.
- Effectively teach and impart excitement and enthusiasm in courses.
- Demonstrate commitment to students with little or no background as well as to experienced students.
- Utilize a variety of instructional methods and modes to ensure student success.
- Teach and contribute to the college's diversity.
- Function as a team player and work with diverse backgrounds.
- Communicate effectively in oral and written form.
- Appropriately incorporate computer information technology in delivery of services.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships.
- Uphold Olympic College's values and ethics to maintain a positive climate.

Adjunct faculty positions are contracted on a quarterly basis. Salary will be determined based on educational qualifications and applicable credits. Flexibility is required to meet departmental needs, including evening/weekend classes, instruction at satellite campuses, and off-campus assignments including travel.
Conditions of EmploymentBackground check, including criminal record history, will be conducted prior to hire. Candidates must also complete the Sexual Misconduct Disclosure Form as required by WB HB 2327. Employees must reside in Washington State within a reasonable distance of the campus. Frequent travel to campuses or other sites may occur.
