Overview

The Early Childhood Education department seeks a part‑time faculty member to teach a variety of Early Childhood 100 and 200‑level courses, including evening, distance, hybrid, or ITV options, and some courses at branch campus sites. Faculty will provide quality teaching, preparation, grading, record‑keeping, and class syllabi.

Essential Functions
  • Mastery knowledge of Early Childhood course content areas
  • Implement course curriculum meeting local licensing laws, state‑wide Core Competencies and nationally (NAEYC) normed standards as well as program needs across the college
  • Understand and advise students on state‑rated child care facilities through the Early Achievers program standards
  • Know common courses in the ECE Stackable Certificates
  • Use a variety of teaching methods and modalities to engage and meet needs of diverse student populations
  • Accommodate accessibility and other special accommodations via course materials and classroom activities as needed
  • Collaborate with peers and work as part of an educational team
  • Incorporate technology (Learning Management Systems) to support instruction (web‑enhanced, hybrid, and/or online)
  • Maintain discipline, course and student records in a professional and timely manner
Minimum Qualifications
  • MA in Early Childhood or related degree in Early Childhood Education
  • College‑level teaching experience in Early Childhood (preferred)
Successful Applicants will
  • Teach Early Childhood classes as needed, including evenings, other campus and off‑site locations
  • Impart excitement and enthusiasm toward course content and the educational experience
  • Utilize a variety of methods and modes of instruction to ensure student success
  • Work successfully with individuals and groups representing diverse cultural, socio‑economic, racial, and other backgrounds as well as military veterans
  • Incorporate accessibility and special needs accommodations via course materials and classroom activities
  • Communicate effectively orally and in writing with students, staff, and colleagues
  • Collaborate successfully with colleagues, staff, and students as part of an educational team
  • Incorporate technology in delivery of course content and services, including use of learning management systems (ability to teach online, ITV, and/or hybrid desired)
