Music Adjunct - General

Salary: $1,000 per credit*

Classification: Adjunct Faculty

Department: Music - SSH Division

Reports To: Dean of Social Sciences & Humanities

Music Adjunct Faculty will teach OC’s various Music History, Theory, Fundamentals, and Appreciation classes. Teaching will be in person and remotely as circumstances demand.

Responsibilities
  • Teach assigned Music courses according to the scheduled timetable and discipline/course outline guidelines.
  • Prepare instructional materials, grade assignments, and maintain accurate student records.
  • Submit required documents and records to the division office as requested.
  • Be available to teach face‑to‑face instruction at the Bremerton, Shelton, and Poulsbo campuses and remotely as needed.
Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Music (or Music Education) required.
  • Minimum of two years’ experience teaching Music to adults.
  • College teaching experience preferred.
  • Graduate level knowledge of Music History, Appreciation, and Theory.
  • Ability to teach college‑level Music courses to a diverse student population, including students whose native language is not English.
  • Effective communication skills, both oral and written, in classroom and professional settings.
  • Ability to incorporate technology into instruction across face‑to‑face, hybrid, and online modalities.
