Continuously recruiting adjunct faculty to teach Art lectures and skill‑based courses, including Art Appreciation, Painting, and Drawing.
Essential Functions- Teach the course(s) in accordance with the college catalog, course outlines, course syllabi, and any departmental guidelines.
- Teach courses in‑person and online, as well as at satellite campuses, as needed.
- Provide quality teaching, including preparation and timely grading.
- Provide class syllabi to students in the first week and to the division office by the tenth day of the quarter.
- Maintain accurate records of students and complete required forms.
- May require evening instruction.
- Master’s degree in a related area or equivalent experience/degree.
- Successful teaching experience.
- For performance courses, experience directing varying‑sized ensembles.
- Demonstrate competencies through training and experience in teaching.
- Effectively teach and impart excitement and enthusiasm in courses.
- Commitment to teaching students with varying levels of background.
- Utilize a variety of methods and modes of instruction to ensure student success.
- Teach and contribute to the college’s diversity.
- Function as a team player.
- Foster a climate of multi‑cultural understanding and appreciation.
- Demonstrate success working with diverse individuals and groups.
- Communicate effectively orally and in writing.
- Appropriately incorporate the use of computer information technology in delivery of services.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships.
We are unable to sponsor visas; only U.S. authorized workers will be considered. Faculty must submit official, unopened transcripts within 30 days of employment. Salary will be based on educational qualifications and credits. The adjunct position is contracted on a quarterly basis; schedule flexibility—including evening, weekend, satellite, and off‑campus instruction—may be required. Adjuncts become eligible for benefits after working 50% of a full‑time load for two consecutive quarters.

A background check, including criminal record history, will be conducted prior to hiring. Completion of a Sexual Misconduct Disclosure Form is required. Candidates must reside in Washington State within reasonable distance of the campus and may be required to travel frequently to other Olympic College campuses or sites.
