Description
Computer Information Systems (CIS) Adjunct at Olympic College. Salary: $1,000 per credit*
Essential Functions- Prepare and teach a wide range of Information Technology courses in lab‑based, lecture, and online delivery formats, creating engaging teaching and learning environments that facilitate student success.
- Teach day, evening, or weekend classes as scheduled at any of the branch campuses, with program courses currently offered in multiple modalities.
- Plan, develop, and set up instructional classrooms, online environments, and labs.
- Identify individual learning needs of students and make appropriate adjustments in learning environments and activities.
- Utilize a variety of assessment activities to evaluate student learning and achievement.
- Stay current in the information technology field through a variety of professional development activities.
- Perform other related duties as assigned and/or required.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Information Systems or a related field.
- Competence and experience in a wide range of information technology areas with expertise in at least one of:
Interactive Web Design, Networking, Software Development, Support Software, and Security.
- Master’s Degree in Information Systems or a related field.
- Successful college teaching experience.
- Competency‑based curriculum development experience.
- Experience teaching online.
- Deferred Compensation Program (DRS) retirement savings plan.

- Final salary contract will be determined based on educational qualifications and applicable credits.
- Adjunct faculty position is contracted on a quarterly basis, with placement on the faculty salary schedule commensurate with educational background and experience.
- Flexibility required to meet departmental needs, including evening/weekend classes, instruction at satellite campuses, and off‑campus assignments such as travel to clinical sites.
- Adjunct positions are open continuously and reviewed on a quarter‑by‑quarter basis; applicants remain active for 12 months from application date.
- Adjuncts are not eligible for benefits upon initial hire; eligibility for benefits requires 50% of a full‑time load for two consecutive quarters.
- Background check, including criminal record history, will be conducted for new hires; a Sexual Misconduct Disclosure Form is also required.
- Employee must reside in Washington State and within a reasonable distance of the campus.
