Overview
CIS Tutor — Salary: $19.50 - $25.96 hourly. Classification:
Instruction & Classroom Support Tech 1.
Location:
Bremerton (Main) Campus.
Reports to:
Director of Tutoring. This recruitment is to establish an applicant pool for future vacancies. Individuals will be contacted as vacancies occur. The position is part-time and reviewed on a quarter-by-quarter basis. Applicants remain active for 12 months from the application date and may be contacted when vacancies occur. Submitting an application does not guarantee a position.
- Assist students in analyzing assignments and understanding class materials.
- Assist students in the development of basic computer literacy skills.
- Assist students in the development of basic, structured programming skills.
- Assist students in the development of basic networking skills.
- Assist students in clarifying critical thinking and developing communication skills.
- Assist students in the development of effective study habits and skills.
- Assist students working in an online format.
- Perform other related duties as assigned and/or required.
Minimum Qualifications
- Reference from an instructor or professor if you are a current Olympic College student.
- High School Graduation, equivalent, or current Running Start student.
- Basic computer competency.
Desired Qualifications
- College teaching or previous tutoring experience.
- 3.5 or better in OC CIS networking or programming coursework (or equivalent from another institution).

- Note:
We are unable to sponsor visas for this position. Only candidates authorized to work in the United States will be considered. - Hourly employees must meet certain hours thresholds to become eligible for benefits (health, retirement, etc.).
- This is an hourly position scheduled to work up to 18 hours per week, with a salary of $19.50 - $25.96 hourly. Benefits eligibility may apply after meeting the applicable requirements.

Prior to a new hire, a background check including criminal history will be conducted. The background check information will be used to assess suitability and competence. In addition to the background check, candidates will be required to complete the Sexual Misconduct Disclosure Form as required by WB HB 2327. The employee must reside in Washington State and within a reasonable distance of the campus to respond to workplace reporting requirements.
Frequent travel to Olympia College campuses or other sites may occur.
