ISP Teacher - Naval

This position is 7.5 hours/day with 183 base contract days (180 student days + 3 Professional Development days) and 3 supplemental days.

Upon hire, the teacher will be required to attend up to five days of paid training during the week of August 17th.

These teachers provide support to students with moderate to severe support needs, including those who are non‑verbal and may require assistance with basic hygiene routines. They also collaborate with other service providers such as SLPs, OT/PTs, and General Education teachers to write and implement programming that ensures students have the necessary skills to access and participate in the general education setting.

The classroom teacher will work collaboratively with other building staff members to develop and motivate each student toward an awareness and understanding of the subject matter and/or skills needed to develop into mature, well‑rounded, responsible young adults. The teacher will establish positive rapport with students and will encourage them to develop skills, attitudes and knowledge needed for future success.

• Current Washington State Special Education Teaching Certificate with appropriate endorsement – Early Childhood Endorsement Preferred

• Knowledge of Common Core State Standards, a variety of assessment tools, RTI, and the CEL 5D+ Instructional Framework preferred
