CAST assists the CNO‑sponsored availability to enhance a ship’s force ability to improve the material conditions throughout the ship’s life cycle. The CAST is a 4‑person team comprised of specialists in the areas of Combat Systems (CS), Aircraft Launch and Recovery Equipment (ALRE), Propulsion Plant, and Hull Mechanical and Electrical Systems (HM&E). They have extensive maintenance shipyard experience with mitigating scheduling conflicts and working knowledge of various shipyard codes and maintenance organization processes.

What

You Will Do
  • Lead the technical planning, execution, and integration of depot‑level work packages with Ship’s Force tasks to ensure seamless maintenance scheduling and project alignment onboard CVN platforms.
  • Provide expert guidance and formal training to Ship’s Force personnel on industrial availability management, work package development, and Ship’s Force Production Teams’ composition and tracking.
  • Oversee maintenance procedures and quality assurance for Aircraft Launch and Recovery Equipment (ALRE) and Aviation Fuels systems, ensuring all work complies with NAVSEA and organizational standards.
  • Develop and maintain rigorous Measures of Effectiveness (MOE) to evaluate availability progress, utilizing Microsoft software to analyze metrics and identify production constraints.
  • Act as a primary technical writer and communicator to brief all levels of the chain of command on availability status, technical risks, and resource requirements.
What You Must Have
  • 6 years relevant experience with a bachelor’s in a related field; 4 years relevant experience with a master’s in a related field; or high school diploma or equivalent and 10 years relevant experience.
  • Strong background associated with shipboard systems and experience on the availability project team.
  • Experience in a senior role in Aircraft Launch and Recovery Equipment (ALRE) or aviation fuels equipment maintenance procedures on a CVN.
  • Strong technical writing ability and proven capability to communicate effectively to all levels of the chain of command.
  • Computer skills include proficiency with Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Word, Excel, Access).
  • U.S. citizen with a current, active DoD Secret Security Clearance.
Bonus Points For
  • Proficiency in the shipboard Organizational Maintenance Management System (OMMS) – Next Generation (NG) and the shipyard Advanced Industrial Management (AIM) systems.
  • Experience at a public or private shipyard engaged in CVN maintenance may be substituted for military experience if the minimum experience is met.
