Job Summary:This position performs a variety of electrical and automation engineering work to maintain and continuously improve the performance of multiple chemical production units and related auxiliary systems in our fumed silica department (HDK). This role provides engineering and technical services to Operations and other service units to ensure safe operations, regulatory compliance, and to maximize the availability and efficiency of these units.
Requirements:- Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Mechatronic, or Computer Science Engineering.
- Minimum of 3 years of electrical engineering experience.
- Thorough technical knowledge in electrical or instrumentation engineering, including relevant regulations, standards, and codes.
- Basic understanding of engineering principles and construction practices.
- Objective judgement and fact-based decision-making approach.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in interdisciplinary and intercultural teams.
- Strong multitasking skills.
- Ability to perform well under schedule and cost pressures.
- Team player attitude.
- Capability to adapt to changing priorities and requirements professionally.
- Preferred, but not required: Knowledge of Siemens Drives/PLC, Delta V, and E&H Instrumentation and automation.
- Must be physically fit to wear an air-purifying respirator if necessary.
- Support and collaborate with Electrical, Instrumentation, and Controls (EI&C) Engineering teams to ensure safe operation and regulatory compliance of production units.
- Maximize the availability and efficiency of production units at required capacity and quality.
- Support and maintain instrumentation and automation systems for production units.
- Assist with capital projects and support process and technology transfer between WACKER HDK production sites.
- Support engineering projects related to capital investment and expenses within your area.
- Conduct or coordinate troubleshooting and debottlenecking activities.
- Develop expertise in Electrical & Instrumentation engineering judgment related to process areas and subject matters.
- Drive and support continuous improvement activities focusing on safety, quality, and cost.
- Assist in developing specifications, standards, and codes.
- Develop and support preventative maintenance plans such as ITPMs.
- Collaborate with teams within Engineering, Maintenance, Operations, and other service units to achieve optimal results from a corporate perspective.
