Health Educator
Work location:
Naval Hospital Bremerton, WA
Duration: 6+ Months
Current POP ends 9/30/25, TO POP end 11/20/27
Responsibilities- Provide health promotion and education opportunities including, but not limited to, tobacco awareness; tobacco cessation classes or appointments consistent with the MTF tobacco cessation program; and nutrition education and weight management.
- Develop population-based programs targeting high-risk groups and individuals, implementing programs through group and individual counseling and education.
- Plan and implement health education programs as specified in the TO.
- Perform limited administrative duties, including maintaining statistical records of workload and data entry and analysis of patient outcomes.
- Maintain educational materials to support health promotion and education.
- Must have for all submissions:
Resume or CV (no gaps). Copy of Diploma or transcripts. Education with Prime Source Verification (PSV) from National Student Clearing House. BLS NPDB data sheet - must be signed by candidate (attached with the PWS).
- Degree/
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in health education, Community Health, Public Health or a Human Services related field. Graduate from an accredited college or university. - Certifications:
BLS - Experience:
One year of specialized experience as a Health Educator after graduation.
Services shall be provided Monday through Friday, between the hours of 0730 and 1900 hours. Shifts will normally be scheduled for an 8.5-to-9-hour period, to include an uncompensated 30-to-60-minute lunch break, respectively. The HCW may be required on an infrequent basis to provide services after normal workdays or on weekends for participation in health education events. In such instances, hours provided for these events will be counted toward the 40-hour work week and the HCW shall be compensated at their normal hourly rate.
The HCW shall not exceed 80 hours in a two-week period.
