Kitsap Mental Health Services (KMHS) is seeking an Operations Supervisor to support day-to-day operations for the Youth Inpatient Unit (YIU). In this role, you will provide administrative leadership that supports safe and effective unit operations. This position supports staffing, scheduling, onboarding, and compliance oversight in close partnership with clinical leadership to maintain a well-supported staff and effective unit operations. Primary

Responsibilities
  • Develop and manage weekly unit schedules, planning at least two months in advance and adjusting as needed to ensure adequate coverage.
  • Monitor and track overtime, attendance, and call-outs for Shift Supervisors and Behavioral Health Technicians.
  • Approve timesheets for assigned staff and monitor compliance with break and timekeeping requirements.
  • Monitor documentation completed by Shift Supervisors and BHTs to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and regulatory compliance.
  • Support the development and implementation of inventory management and purchasing protocols.
  • Monitor unit kitchen operations for regulatory compliance and client needs.
  • Provide regular administrative supervision for assigned staff and on-call BHTs as needed.
  • Collaborate with Clinical Supervisors to complete performance appraisals for assigned staff.
  • Monitor required trainings, compliance items, and due dates in the Learning Management System.
  • Train, coach, and support staff, working closely with Shift Supervisors to support team performance.
  • Review recruiter dashboards, screen applicants, schedule interviews, and coordinate with People Experience throughout the hiring process.
  • Ensure onboarding and orientation processes are completed and documented; follow up with new hires after onboarding.
  • Provide operational support on the unit as needed, including covering the floor, filling in as Shift Supervisor, and supporting behavioral or physical interventions.
  • Attend treatment team meetings to stay informed of changes in client acuity, treatment needs, and behavioral protocols.
  • Support admissions workflows and ensure timely completion of screening and intake processes.
  • Model trauma-informed care, professionalism, and effective communication with staff and clients.
  • Promote positive staff morale through timely problem-solving and clear internal and external communication.
Minimum Qualifications

EDUCATION:

Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology, social services, or behavioral health. High School Diploma or GED accepted with seven (7) or more years of relevant experience.

EXPERIENCE:

Two (2) years community behavioral health experience. Two (2) years’ experience in staff supervision.

LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION:
Agency Affiliated Counselor Registration.

Preferred Qualifications

EXPERIENCE:

Specialist - four or more (4+) years of community behavioral health experience.
