Job SummaryThe YIU Clinical Manager provides administrative and clinical management to the acute services youth team via direct clinical and supervisory work. This role serves as a clinical leader within the YIU Treatment Team. The Clinical Manager assists in the operations of KMHS in support of its stated mission and provides the highest level of customer services to internal and external customers.
GeneralSummary of Duties
- Assist in hiring, training, coaching, developing and evaluating qualified staff.
- Consult with the Director regularly and on-going regarding all aspects of the program, including clinical and administrative procedures.
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team on admissions and milieu management
- Provide clinical and administrative supervision to mental health professionals, milieu managers and discharge planner.
- Provide direct clinical services as indicated.
- Conduct regular and ongoing clinical and clerical record reviews; ensure that all documentation is completed in a timely manner in accordance with Acute Services, agency, contractual and regulatory requirements.
- Assist in coordinating all aspects of resource management, appropriate handling of case assignments, signing treatment plans, authorization, and caseload management.
- Facilitate team meetings, consultations, clinical supervision, education and training activities; coordinate activities with other programs.
- Work as an integral member of the KMHS supervisory team and represent KMHS positively in the community. Develop a positive working relationship with other child-serving agencies in the community and establish a team approach. Provide consultation, education, and training as needed to KMHS staff, school personnel, and other agencies or individuals regarding clinical and program issues.
- Review and approve milieu curriculum.
- Conduct ongoing assessment of milieu acuity and client risk, collaborating in a timely manner with staff as needed to ensure effective de-escalation and use of least restrictive alternatives up to seclusion and restraint.
- Participate in developing and implementing agency treatment philosophy.
- Identify client and community needs and assist in enhancing and developing services to address identified needs.
- Promote the enhancement of positive staff morale by facilitating a timely response to concerns, ensuring respectful and professional internal communications, facilitating team building and providing opportunities for staff recognition.
- Attend all mandatory trainings on time and as scheduled.
- Keep current on all required documentation (i.e., food worker permit, counselor licenses, etc.).

- Supervision of Milieu Managers, Mental Health Professionals and Discharge Planner.
- Hiring, training, coaching, supervision, and scheduling of direct reports. Assist program director in annual performance review process.
- EDUCATION: Master’s Degree in Psychology, social services, or behavioral health
- EXPERIENCE: Specialist (minimum 5 years of job-related experience). 2 years’ experience in staff supervision and program supervision/development.
- This position requires driving clients in a personal vehicle on behalf of the agency; therefore, the incumbent must successfully complete a motor vehicle history check, possess and maintain a current, valid driver's license in the state of Washington, and have reliable, insured transportation.
