Support the overhaul and repair of U.S. Naval vessels through surface preparation and application of high performance preservation coating.;
Use drawings, specifications, technical manuals, engineering standards, and manufacturers' instructions to identify the location and assemble blast equipment in dry-docks, piers, and on vessels.;
Ascertain the type and method for surface preparation, considering variables such as current surface profile, profile requirements, intended coating, cleanliness, tolerances, and metal loss.;
Use hand or mechanical means (scaling, sanding, scraping, chemical removal, washing) to prepare surfaces to obtain required profiles.;
Use deck blast machines to remove coatings and oxide from decks of ships.;
Apply prior knowledge of materials for application on various surfaces including critical coated areas.
