Wound Care LPN

Job Summary

As a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), you will provide compassionate nursing care under the direction of a physician or Registered Nurse, as part of a multi-disciplinary team. Care is focused on the comfort and well-being of the patient and family, consistent with the scope of licensed practice and the standards/procedures of the Franciscan Health System (FHS).

• Perform practical nursing tasks and routine aspects of the designated nursing regimen.
• Participate in patient care planning and assist with and/or perform therapeutic and diagnostic procedures.
• Report and document observations of patients and assist in maintaining an optimum physical and emotional environment for assigned patients.
• Understand patient care planning and practice; demonstrate skill in preparation and administration of medications.
• Maintain effective working relationships with staff, patients, and multi-disciplinary team members.
• Carry out recurring tasks independently within the scope of practice and established standards of care.
• Follow specific instructions from a Physician or RN for new, difficult, or unusual tasks and consult when unusual/unfamiliar situations are encountered.

• Graduation from an accredited Practical Nursing program (or equivalent recognized military training).
• Current Washington State license to practice as a Licensed Practical Nurse.
• Current healthcare provider BLS certification.
• One year of related clinical work experience is preferred; new graduates are welcome to apply and will be trained.
