Summary
You will serve as a QUALITY ASSURANCE SPECIALIST in the AUDIT and ANALYSIS BRANCH (Code 136.2) of PSNS and IMF.
Duties
Help
- You will conduct audit/surveillance using methods, techniques and principles to produce unbiased and factual results.
- You will review shipyard audit and surveillance programs for efficiency and recommend changes to the branch manager.
- You will provide cost estimates for manpower and material associated with conducting audits and surveillances.
- You will review subordinates work assignments for technical and administrative accuracy and provide guidance as to how work should be accomplished.
- You will develop surveillance checklists, and schedules, establish responsibilities for discrepancy actions, and report the status of related actions.
- You will issue final official reports with emphasis on administrative and technical accuracy.
- You will prepare certification criteria for personnel conducting or assisting in quality audits.

- This is a bargaining unit position.
- You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
- Work is performed in areas where potentially harmful physical and chemical agents are present (e.g. fumes, dust, heat, ionizing and non-ionizing radiation and chemicals). You will be required to participate in medical surveillance programs.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- This position requires considerable amount of walking, and occasional climbing, bending and crouching.
GS-12: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: planning, developing and coordinating quality assurance audit and surveillance program procedures, studies and requirements to identify operational and procedural deficiencies and implement corrective action to ensure ship and submarine repair practices meet quality and certification requirements.
My experience demonstrates a practical knowledge in monitoring, controlling, or maintaining the quality of products or services in quality assurance, procurement, inspection, production, or related areas.
GS-11: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: conducting quality assurance audits, evaluations, or surveillances of ships or submarines programs or processes to identify deficiencies and recommend corrective action.
My experience demonstrates a practical knowledge in monitoring, controlling, or maintaining the quality of products or services in quality assurance, procurement, inspection, production, or related areas.
