What you'll do
  • Develop and implement comprehensive quality control plans for construction projects, ensuring adherence to specifications and regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct regular inspections and audits of construction sites to assess compliance with quality standards and identify areas for improvement.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to establish quality benchmarks and ensure that all work meets or exceeds these standards.
  • Prepare detailed reports on quality control findings, including non-conformance issues, corrective actions, and recommendations for process improvements.
  • Lead training sessions for staff and subcontractors on quality control procedures, emphasizing the importance of quality in construction practices.
  • Monitor and analyze quality metrics to identify trends and develop strategies for continuous improvement in project execution.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for quality-related inquiries and concerns from clients, stakeholders, and regulatory bodies.
  • Ensure that all quality control documentation is maintained accurately and is readily accessible for review by internal and external parties.
  • Stay updated on industry best practices, emerging technologies, and regulatory changes to enhance the company's quality control processes.
  • Foster a culture of quality awareness among all team members, promoting accountability and proactive problem-solving.
  • Participate in project meetings to provide insights on quality-related issues and contribute to project planning and execution strategies.
  • Coordinate with the safety team to ensure that quality control measures align with safety protocols and standards.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in quality control or quality assurance within the construction industry.
  • Strong knowledge of construction processes, materials, and industry standards.
  • Proven ability to conduct inspections, audits, and assessments effectively.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with diverse teams.
  • Detail-oriented mindset with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency in quality management software and tools, as well as Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Familiarity with relevant regulatory requirements and standards, such as ISO 9001 or similar.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Nice to have
  • Certification in quality management (e.g., CQI, CQM, or equivalent) is a plus.
  • Experience with Lean Six Sigma methodologies or other continuous improvement frameworks.
  • Knowledge of environmental and safety regulations related to construction.
  • Previous experience in a managerial role overseeing quality control teams.
  • Familiarity with construction project management software.
