Department: Campus Safety & Security

Reports To: Program Specialist 3

Salary Range: $38,340 - $50,412 annually

Office Assistant 3 supports the mission of Campus Safety & Security by serving as the department's primary communications and dispatch center during evening operations for the Bremerton campus. This position enhances the safety and security of the college community by monitoring campus CCTV cameras, coordinating communications with Campus Safety Officers, documenting incidents and daily activities, conducting officer status checks, and facilitating emergency response through 911 when appropriate.

Through effective communication, accurate record keeping, and exceptional customer service, this position helps maintain a safe and secure environment by providing enhanced security support for the college's satellite campuses.

Essential Functions
  • Provide emergency communications and dispatch services in support of Campus Safety & Security operations.
  • Serve as the primary communications center for Campus Safety & Security during evening operations.
  • Monitor campus security operations through two-way radio, telephone, computer systems, and closed‑circuit television (CCTV) cameras.
  • Perform a variety of administrative, clerical, and office support functions that ensure the efficient operation of the Campus Safety & Security Department.
  • Respond to inquiries by telephone, email, radio, or other communication methods; and provide accurate information.
  • Prepare, review, and maintain dispatch logs, records, and other departmental documentation.
  • Utilize a variety of computer systems, software applications, communications equipment, and security technologies to support the daily operations of Campus Safety & Security.
  • Operate and monitor CCTV camera systems, access control systems, alarm monitoring systems, Zoom telephone systems, two‑way radios, computers, and other communications equipment.
  • Utilize department software including Microsoft Office Suite, SharePoint, Omnigo, Genetec, 25

    Live, and other systems necessary to support Campus Safety & Security operations.
Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Office experience
  • Ability to work with frequent interruptions
  • Ability to multitask
Preferred Qualifications
  • At least one year of clerical experience and two years of office experience
  • Microsoft and Excel experience

  • The employee must reside in Washington State and within a reasonable distance of the campus to respond to workplace reporting requirements at the time of hiring. Frequent travel to Olympic College campuses or other sites may occur.
