Join HII as we keep the world's most powerful Navy afloat! We are seeking a Marine Electrician to be a member of the Carrier Engineering Maintenance Assist Team (CEMAT). The candidate will perform various duties like troubleshoot and repair various shipboard commercial and industrial equipment. This position is full-time and located in our Bremerton, WA location.
What You Will DoApplies comprehensive understanding of production and processes toward completion of assignments.
Responsible for interfacing with customers, managing subcontractors and ability to provide work direction to others.
Performs a variety of complicated and non routine tasks.
Develops and uses technical documents including controlled work packages, formal work processes and procedures, test documents, reports and task or trip reports.
Schedules, reports and briefs customers and senior management.
Performs duties outside of specialty in order to complete installation or work assignment.
Will assist in training Ship's Force personnel in equipment trouble shooting and repair.
What You Must Have- High School education, or Trade School or equivalent, and 4 years of related experience.
- Must provide own hand tools as designated per trades specialty.
Must be proficient in shipboard electrical troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance on various shipboard high voltage power distribution equipment.
Experience using blueprint/schematic diagrams and OEM/Naval technical manuals.
Must have experience and knowledge of Navy Tag-out Users Manual, Joint Fleet Maintenance Manual (JFMM), and control work processes to include Work Authorization Form (WAF) and shipboard Tag-out system.
Must be able to qualify as a Shipboard WAF/Tag out Coordinator Repair Activity Representative (RA).
Must be able to obtain a CPR card.
Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Confidential security clearance and base access.
Bonus Points For- Completed Mil-N Electrician A/B school or trade equivalent.
- Experience in trouble shooting and repairing commercial and industrial shipboard washer and dryers.
- Trouble shoot and repair experience on shipboard galley equipment such as stand-alone refrigerators/freezers, cold food counters, walk-in refrigerators, ovens, griddles, and dishwashers.
- Trouble shoot and repair experience on shipboard waste management equipment to include Pulpers, Shredders, and Compress Melt Units (CMUs).
- Familiararity with Aqueous Film-Forming Foam (AFFF) systems and ventilation system controls.
- Possession of a valid CPR card.
Must be able to lift, carry and transport heavy equipment and boxes. The exact weight requirements will be determined by the specific job, but no less than 30 lbs. Able to work on and climb ladders, work in extreme temperature environments, aboard ships, in shipyards, under industrial conditions and in confined spaces. Able to perform other duties as required which may involve high heat, humidity, noise and dirty conditions, working aloft or over the sides of vessels.
May ride ships at sea for extended periods. May require wearing a respirator. Travel may be required within and outside of the continental…
