Kitsap Mental Health Services (KMHS) is seeking a Bilingual Family Peer Specialist (Spanish/English) to join our Child & Family WISe (Wraparound with Intensive Services) program. In this vital role, you will use your lived experience as a parent or caregiver of a youth with complex behavioral or emotional challenges to empower other families navigating similar journeys. You’ll work side-by-side with caregivers to promote hope, resilience, and culturally responsive support as they access community resources and behavioral health services.

• Use personal lived experience to build trust with parents and caregivers, providing encouragement and validating their experiences.
• Provide culturally informed peer support to Spanish-speaking families, helping them navigate systems and build natural support networks.
• Offer individualized support in homes, schools, and community settings, including Child & Family Team meetings and IEP conferences.
• Assist caregivers in accessing resources such as housing, healthcare, transportation, food, and education for their families.
• Promote independent living skills, parenting support, and personal wellness for both caregivers and their youth.
• Support social engagement by encouraging and participating in community and recreational activities with families.
• Facilitate connections with peer advocacy groups and help families understand their rights, including the grievance process.
• Partner with clinicians to develop youth wellness plans and provide caregiver insight to the treatment team.
