Shift: Monday - Friday 5:30am Start Time
Job SummaryDrivers operate heavy‑duty trucks with front, side, or rear‑end load lift attachments. Drivers transport material to a disposal, transfer, or recycle facility when trucks reach legal load capacity. Commercial Drivers pick up containers filled with waste or recyclable material, often weighing over 1,000 pounds, and must maneuver wheeled containers to a pick‑up stage area. Residential Drivers collect household waste or recyclable material, safely maneuvering vehicles in residential environments.
Roll‑off Drivers prepare, load, and transport large mobile open‑top and compactor containers from customer locations, navigating driveways, alleyways, lots, and high‑traffic roadways. All drivers perform high‑skill backing maneuvers in tight spaces throughout routes.
- Operate vehicle in accordance with Waste Management safety rules, OSHA, DOT, and all applicable laws.
- Perform pre‑ and post‑trip inspections and document checks using the standard DVIR.
- Immediately report all unsafe situations or service‑related issues to Operations Manager or Dispatch.
- Attend and participate in all scheduled training, briefings, and meetings.
- Work closely with Operations Manager to improve route efficiencies and identify best practices.
- Notify Operations Manager of any incidents, accidents, injuries, or property damage.
- Notify Operations Manager or Dispatch of service interruptions, closed streets, over‑heavy receptacles, or safety hazards.
- Communicate customer requests to Operations Manager or Dispatch.
- Completely dump all receptacles and leave the customer’s location clean and free of debris.
- Follow route assignments and complete end‑of‑day documentation and check‑out processes.
- Perform all duties scheduled by Operations Manager or Dispatch and assist other drivers to meet customer needs.

Required Qualifications
- 1 year operating a vehicle requiring a CDL, or 1 year equivalent military driving within the last 7 years.
- At least 18 years of age and legally eligible to work in the country.
- Able to read, write, and speak English well enough to interact with the public, understand traffic signs, respond to official questions, and complete records or reports.
- Successfully complete pre‑employment screening, including drug screen and physical.
- Commercial Driver License (CDL) Class A with an air‑brake endorsement, or CJL Class B with an air‑brake endorsement.
Preferred Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED (accredited).
- Standing, walking, lifting, pushing, pulling, crouching, reaching, handling, sitting, talking, hearing.
