Transfer Specialist

The Transfer Specialist is responsible for the care, removal, and transport of deceased. The role collaborates with other team members to ensure processes and procedures remain in compliance. The Specialist safely and courteously drives company‑owned vehicles, maintains vehicle cleanliness, and presents a professional appearance when in contact with families.

• Safely drives company‑owned professional vehicles to perform "first call" transfer of deceased in accordance with local and state/provincial laws and company policies.
• Follows chain‑of‑custody, paperwork, and deceased identification procedures.
• Cooperates with first responders, coroner, hospital staff, or senior living facility and accommodates their processes and procedures.
• Interacts courteously with bereaved families, maintaining sensitivity and minimizing conversation during home transfers.
• Follows company procedures for transferring soiled garments, bedding, or other materials, leaving a warm and courteous first impression.
• Enters deceased event information into proprietary software according to company procedures.
• Transports caskets to airports, care centers, or funeral homes and assists with moving caskets.
• Maintains vehicle cleanliness: washes, vacuums, and cleans vehicles; fuels vehicles as necessary; follows safety guidelines and expenditure processes.
• Maintains personal protective and transfer supplies in vehicles, including cleaning products, and reports vehicle engine or operating issues to management.

• Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Licenses: Current state/province issued driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
• Experience: At least one (1) year of courier or driver experience with direct customer interaction strongly preferred.
• Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Ability to work a schedule that includes weekends, nights, and holidays on‑call; ability to lift up to 75 pounds, push/pull up to 200 pounds; ability to drive in hazardous, heavy traffic, and adverse weather conditions; basic computer skills required.

• Work indoors and/or outdoors in all seasons and weather conditions; local and/or multiple location traveling required.
• Comply with field dress code policy.
• Frequent, continuous periods of standing up to 6 hours per day; climbs stairs frequently.
• Manual dexterity necessary for paperwork, calculator, computer and phone usage; lifting, pushing, pulling up to 75 pounds.
• Work hours may exceed standard hours as needed; local travel up to 100% using company vehicle.
