Job Summary

Seidel Schroeder seeks a dedicated Senior Tax Associate to support senior leaders, ensuring exceptional service and proactive client care.

Responsibilities
  • Take full responsibility for complex tax engagements.
  • Train and supervise associates assigned to the engagement.
  • Gain exposure to a variety of entities and industries.
  • Research technical issues as they arise.
  • Exercise professional judgment on technical issues when needed.
  • Develop an area of expertise and eventually review tax returns in that area.
Skills and Abilities
  • Prepare tax information submitted by clients for completeness.
  • Prepare personal, corporate, S‑Corp, partnership, and trust returns from simple to moderately complex.
  • Knowledge of tax regulations to answer client questions under supervision.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Conduct tax research projects requiring expertise.
  • Make tax adjustments to client financial statements and prepare supporting work papers.
  • Understand M‑1 and M‑3 adjustments.
  • Broader understanding of special allocations and basis tracking.
  • Assist with quarterly and annual tax planning, projections, and estimated tax calculations.
  • Manage client expectations, deadlines, and deliverables.
  • Take ownership of projects and proactively resolve issues.
  • Demonstrate strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Qualifications
  • 2–3+ years of tax preparation experience in a public accounting environment.
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related discipline with intermediate level tax and accounting coursework.
  • Proficiency with Quick Books Online and Desktop.
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States.
  • Ability to work overtime during certain seasonal periods.
Travel

This role may entail local travel between Seidel Schroeder locations.
