Primary PurposeUnder moderate supervision, coordinate the collection and reporting of BJH (PEIMS) data.
Qualifications (Experience/Education/Certification)Education/Certification: High School Diploma or GED
Experience: Three years of experience working with PEIMS/TSDS data, including collection and verification; experience with student information systems.
Special Knowledge/Skills- Ability to maintain accurate and auditable records.
- Ability to use personal computer and software to develop spreadsheets, perform data analysis, and do word processing.
- Proficient in keyboarding, 10-key numerical data entry, and file maintenance skills.
- Ability to perform basic math.
- Ability to meet established deadlines.
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to understand detailed written or oral instructions.
- Plan, assign and manage the activities of support staff involved in the processing for the District.
- Coordinate the collection, integration, and formatting of all data required for PEIMS/TSDS submission.
- Lead training and work cooperatively with campus and district staff to collect, organize, and format data required to submit district PEIMS/TSDS data in a timely manner.
- Run edits, reports, and verification checks on data to ensure the accuracy of information.
- Distribute edits and reports to appropriate staff for analysis, verification, and correction.
- Submit complete and accurate PEIMS/TSDS data in Texas Education Agency (TEA)-prescribed format to the Education Service Center (ESC) and TEA in a timely manner.
- Collaborate with district and department leadership in improving systems associated with PEIMS/TSDS data collection and reporting process.
- Update annually procedures manuals.
- Verify data submitted to TEA and submit corrections in a timely manner.
- Provide training and support to campuses and to business and personnel office staff responsible for processing PEIMS/TSDS data.
- Receive advanced training in information security and confidentiality, and the governing state and federal laws, rules, and regulations and disseminate appropriately.
- Receive PEIMS-related information from ESC and TEA, attend all regional PEIMS workshops, and disseminate information to other staff in a timely manner, including updates to PEIMS Data Standards and SAAH.
- Receive advanced training in the district and other data systems, including the student information system, the financial information system, and the human resources information system, and proactively adjust procedures for processing PEIMS/TSDS data.
- Attend regional and state PEIMS/TSDS workshops and disseminate information to appropriate staff.
- Manage and support TEASE and TREx account applications.
- Maintain professional behavior, promote a positive image, appearance, and work ethic to represent the District in a positive manner at all times, and work in a team environment that supports the vision and mission of the District.
- Maintain a positive and effective relationship, good judgment, and decision making with coworkers, supervisors, and other district personnel, outside agencies, and organizations.
- Comply with policies established by federal and state law, State Board of Education rule, and local board policy.
- Compile, maintain, and file all reports, records, and other documents as required including auditable records and statements.
- Follow district safety protocols and emergency procedures.
- Maintain confidentiality of privileged and sensitive information when received and distributed to the appropriate designees.
- Respond to TEA desk audits through correspondence, intervention plans, and follow-up documentation.
- Demonstrate effective interpersonal skills through communication with community, staff, and school board.
