Looking for Part Time Recreation Attendants

Position Summary

This position will rotate duties for the Aquatic Center Front Gate, Aquatic Center Concession Stand and the Park Carousel, as needed.

Salary: $10.00 per hour

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Provides excellent customer service to all guests and staff
  • Greet and assist patrons of the facilities
  • Collect admissions fees, concession sale funds and issue correct change
  • Take concession orders
  • Stock and restock supplies daily
  • Attendant will be trained to operate the carousel, turn on music, and give a brief narration of the carousel's history
  • Assist riders on and off carousel
  • Ensure carousel riders follow all rules and procedures
  • Ensure that all age and weight requirements are followed
  • Accurately report rider counts
  • Report all maintenance needs to the Aquatic Superintendent
  • General cleaning duties, including the carousel facility
  • Help out in emergency situations at the facilities
  • Attend staff meetings scheduled by the Aquatic Superintendent
Qualifications

Basic computer skills, food and cash handling experience preferred. Must be able to verbally communicate effectively with both the public and staff. Must be able to multi-task. Individuals must be very people-oriented and good with children.

Physical Demands

May be required to stand for long periods of time. Lift and move up to 50 pounds (assistance as needed).

Shifts Available

Varied shifts; including holidays, weekends, and evenings. Must be able to work weekend hours.

Minimum Age

15 years old – must be 16 years old to operate the carousel.

Background Screening

All offers of employment shall be made contingent upon the successful completion of pre-employment background and other screenings, as determined by the City of Brenham. Depending on the requirements of the position, the following background and pre-employment screening(s) may be conducted:
