Position: INSTRUCTIONAL SYSTEMS SPECIALIST with Security Clearance
Duties

SUMMARY:

PRIMARY

PURPOSE:

To serve as an Instructional Systems Specialist for resourcing technical training courses, instructional materials, and instructional technology through the analysis of educational or instructional problems or questions in support of training for occupational specialties or fields. DUTIES:
* Plans, coordinates, designs and validates components of instructional design.
* Develops, reviews, and revises instructional materials and measurement devices in accordance with established learning objectives.
* Plans, coordinates, designs and validates training squadron budgetary and resource support requirements.
* Accomplishes special projects relating to the instructional program. Requirements Conditions of employment

* If authorized, PCS will be paid IAW JTR and AF Regulations. If receiving an authorized PCS, you may be subject to completing/signing a CONUS agreement. More information on PCS requirements, may be found at:  
* This position is subject to provisions of the DoD Priority Placement Program
* Disclosure of Political Appointments
* Required to work other than normal duty hours
* Required travel away from the normal duty station on military or commercial aircraft
* Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret Clearance
* This is a drug testing designated position. The incumbent is subject to random testing for drug use
* This is a Financial Management Level 1 Certified position IAW the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) 2012, Public Law 112-81, Subtitle F-Financial Management, CONT
* CONT Section 1599d. Incumbent shall comply with the requirements of this certification program
* Must meet positive education requirements specified in the OPM qualification standards
* Position is not centrally managed/pcs funds are not authorized Qualifications In order to qualify, you must meet the basic requirement and specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Professional and Scientific Positions, to include the Individual Occupational Requirements (IOR) for the GS-1750, Instructional Systems series. BASIC REQUIREMENTS FOR GS-1750-11: A Bachelor's degree (or higher degree) that included or was supplemented by at least 24 semester hours appropriate to the work of the position to be filled.

The course work must include study in at least four of the following five areas: (1) Learning theory, psychology of learning, educational psychology; (2) Instructional design practices (3) Educational evaluation (4) Instructional product OR (5) Computers in education and training. Some positions in this series may specialize in one or two functional areas, where more specific academic preparation may be necessary.

For such positions, agencies may require course work in the applicable functional area(s) as part of the above-required 24 semester hours.

EXPERIENCE:

Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-09, or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience include comprehensive knowledge of a wide range of instructional concepts, methods, and techniques required to develop and plan a variety of difficult and complex courses associated with teaching advanced technical systems or subject matter areas.

Comprehensive knowledge of a wide variety of instructional development methods sufficient to develop and revise instructional materials which result in complete and full-length training products for ACC formal training unit courses. Comprehensive knowledge of a wide variety of instructional measurement methods and principles sufficient to develop plans or policies for measuring achievement of instructional objectives.
