Position: QUALITY ASSURANCE SPECIALIST with Security Clearance
Duties
* Maintain a system for assessing quality levels and providing feedback to the organization.
* Participate individually or as a team member to determine root cause and develop corrective actions.
* Determine cost effectiveness of making repairs to equipment to maintain acceptable quality levels.
* Design plans, procedures, and quality systems for monitoring product certification decisions, procedure checklists, and other guidelines.
* Conduct analysis of equipment mission to determine performance requirements and characteristics, non-destructive testing requirements, configuration and specialist inspection requirements.
* Prepare work orders for equipment installations, modification, and facility. Requirements Conditions of employment
* Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
* This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 15% of the time.
* Required to submit a Financial Disclosure Statement OGE 450.
* Appointment to this position is subject to a one year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 11. While probationary the incumbent can be terminated with limited appeal rights.
* Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance. If the security clearance is denied or revoked, the individual may be denied or removed from the position, accordingly. Qualifications Who May Apply:

Experience:

One year of specialized experience which includes:
1) Recommending corrective actions for product quality deficiencies in accordance with agency standards;
2) Preparing charts depicting pertinent relationships using statistical methods; AND
3) Evaluating supply systems operations through periodic audits inspections. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09). OR

Education:

Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.M. with a major study in quality assurance, statistics, mathematics, production management, industrial management, computer science, engineering, engineering technology, physical sciences, textiles, or other fields related to the position. OR Combination of

Education and Experience:

A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18.
