Job Summary:
The Registered Respiratory Therapist will work with a team in a culture of learning and advancement, using scientific values, therapies, and techniques to improve patient care and outcomes.
Essential Functions of the Role:
- Performs and directs respiratory care services like oxygen and aerosol therapy.
- Works with the attending physician and care team.
- Administers care with quality and excellence, following procedures.
- Administers cardiopulmonary resuscitation in emergencies.
- Adheres to established policies, including infection control, isolation, HIPAA, time and attendance, and social media.
- Performs willingly and professionally with peers and patients to maintain the very best work environment and outcomes.
- Embraces the autonomy to grow and enhance skills such that professional and technical requirements are accomplished.
- Focuses on continuous quality improvement in all aspects of clinical care. Identifies, executes, and shares opportunities to improve patient care.
Key Success Factors:
- General knowledge of Respiratory Care modalities, therapies, equipment, and medications.
- Able to read, write and follow flow chart protocols as appropriate.
- Critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- General computer skills, including but not limited to: data entry, information security, electronic medical documentation, hand-held scanning, and email.

Qualifications:
- Education:
Associate's or 2 years of work experience above the minimum qualification - Experience:
Less than 1 Year of Experience - Certification/License/Registration:
- Basic Life Support (BLS): BLS in 30 days of hire or transfer.
- Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP):
Licensed by the State of Texas Medical Board as a Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP). - Reg Respiratory Therapist (RRT):
Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) from the National Board Respiratory Care.
