The Rehabilitation Therapy Technician (RTT) performs moderately complex habilitative and rehabilitative therapy work. Provides assistance to therapists for an assigned therapeutic specialty (music therapy, therapeutic recreation, dance/movement therapy, occupational therapy, physical therapy, psychology, or vocational/day programming). Provides direct contact instruction and training for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Works under the general supervision of a Registered Therapist, Psychologist, or Vocational/Day Programming Supervisor.

• Attends work regularly; may work rotating schedules, extended shifts, or overtime as required.
• Directly implements treatment plans through hands‑on methods, monitors goals and objectives through direct observation.
• Assists in developing and evaluating treatment plans for the assigned specialty.
• Assists in conducting functional skills assessments and prepares materials for assessments.
• Schedules and provides staff training to Direct Support Professionals to ensure continuity of treatment plan objectives.
• Monitors DSP implementation, gathers data, and reports to the interdisciplinary team.
• Maintains paperwork to meet applicable standards and procedures.
• Collects treatment‑plan data to assess individual progress.
• Participates in the interdisciplinary team process, providing assessment results and monitoring information.
• Provides feedback on progress and assists with development of treatment plans.
• Assists with disaster response, recovery, or COOP activation as needed.

• Knowledge of relevant therapeutic techniques such as applied behavior analysis, sensory integration, and others.
• Ability to train staff in treatment methods and related areas.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Skill in developing and maintaining data collection systems for assigned specialty.
• Competency with personal computers and relevant software.
• Knowledge of ICF/IID regulations and state supported‑living center policies.
• Physical ability to meet required standards for direct contact staff positions.
• Capacity for cooperative and effective teamwork.

Valid Texas driver’s license required; applicant must obtain it within 90 days of hire if not already held.

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Minimum six months of work experience with persons who have intellectual and developmental disabilities or in performing therapeutic work.
• Experience in applied behavior analysis, sensory integration, music therapy, therapeutic recreation, dance/movement therapy, occupational therapy, physical therapy, psychology, or vocational rehabilitation is preferred.
• Experience developing treatment and support plans for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities is preferred.

Applicants are required to pass a fingerprint criminal background check, pre‑employment drug screen, and registry checks. Random drug testing may be required. The position may require flexible work hours, overtime, work on weekends and holidays, and willingness to work verbal and physical shifts. All applicants must be at least 18 years of age.
