Maintenance Technician / Mechanic
Job Description
Maintenance Technician opportunity in Brenham, TX. You will troubleshoot, repair, and maintain production equipment to ensure safe and efficient operations. Responsibilities include preventative maintenance, diagnosing mechanical and electrical issues, and supporting production uptime.
Open Shift3rd Shift – Weekend days, Friday to Sunday (6:00am-6:30pm)
Shift differential of $2.00 per hour.
Responsibilities- Perform troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair of production equipment and machinery.
- Execute preventive maintenance tasks.
- Interpret engineering drawings, schematics, diagrams, and manuals.
- Use hand and power tools, including drills, measuring instruments, taps, and presses.
- Utilize maintenance tracking software to document work performed.
- Maintain knowledge of soldering techniques and basic electrical/mechanical systems.
- Support production by assembling or modifying workstations as needed.
- Work with Digital Volt Meters (DVMs) and other diagnostic equipment.
- Assist with basic programming and troubleshooting of PLCs and microcontrollers.
- Collaborate with team members to support all areas of production as needed.
- Communicate with external vendors for equipment service, troubleshooting, and repairs.
- Follow all safety standards, including proper use of PPE.
- Maintain flexibility to work across multiple production areas based on business needs.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Minimum of 3 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Proven experience as a Maintenance Technician or similar role.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical wiring, plumbing, and HVAC systems.
- Proficiency with diagnostic tools, power tools, and maintenance software.
- Excellent problem‑solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and other documents.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively with co‑workers and supervisors.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Legal authorization to work in the United States – sponsorship not available.
- Technical diploma or certification.
- 5+ years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Lift up to 50 pounds.
- Stand up to 12 hours per shift.
- Work in a production environment with required PPE.
