A Brief Summary Of This PositionThe Material Handler will be responsible for loading all products safely and accurately, following company policies, procedures, and work instructions.
Standard Shift1st shift (Days) Monday - Friday 7 AM - 3 PM. Additional hours outside the standard shift may be required.
PayStarting Hourly Pay Rate (LG4): $20.34. Eligible for annual discretionary bonus. Opportunity for step pay increases at 90 days, 1 year, and 2 years.
Essential Functions- Identify material being loaded or unloaded by part number, description, quantity, and quality.
- Gather customer orders and stage by stop schedule on consolidation cards; update cards for shortages.
- Complete all computer transactions using the MRP system for finished goods from production areas.
- Use ship papers and CDR load sheets to identify product to be loaded.
- Transport product to staging area using straddle truck and forklift.
- Operate overhead cranes to lift/move pole product from bolsters to bolsters.
- Perform general housekeeping (sweeping, painting, operating powered sweeper, mopping).
- Maintain safety awareness when disposing of wood dunnage to avoid tripping hazards.
- Assist in loading trailers as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
MS Office, Outlook, Excel, IFS, TMS.
Required Qualifications- High School Diploma or GED.
- Ability to read and write English.
- Common manufacturing math proficiency.
- 6 months of prior experience in a manufacturing environment.
- 6 months of prior experience operating heavy equipment.
- 6 months of prior experience using a computer inventory control system.
- Previous forklift operating experience.
- Previous overhead crane experience.
- Previous experience operating a straddle truck and specialized shag truck (terminal tractor, yard truck for shipping and receiving).
- 1 year of prior experience in a manufacturing environment.
- 1 year of prior experience operating heavy equipment.
- 1 year of prior experience using the IFS system to track work orders.
- Ability to accurately and honestly check one's own work for quality assurance.
- A person with passion, integrity, drive to excel, and deliver exceptional results.
Employee will be exposed to production facilities requiring PPE: hand, hearing, foot, eye, and head protection, as well as frequent exposure to outdoor elements. Physical effort is moderate to heavy with continuous heavy lifting (35-50 lbs), standing, bending or walking 85% of the time, and occasional climbing up to 8 feet.
