Requirements
  • Completion of an approved LVN/LPN program
  • Current, unencumbered LVN/LPN license to practice in Texas
  • Nursing experience in an acute or long-term care setting preferred
  • Current CPR certification preferred
  • Ability to commit to a 6‑month assignment
  • Ability to work 40 hours per week, including 3 weekends per month
  • Must pass a background check and drug screening
  • Must attend all required orientation and nursing education sessions
  • Must be available for Orientation Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM, for approximately 2 weeks
  • Attendance is mandatory, and punctuality is required, as missed sessions may be difficult to reschedule
Responsibilities
  • Perform vocational and practical nursing duties within the assigned scope of practice
  • Provide care, treatment, and general support to individuals in a residential care setting
  • Perform routine and non‑routine nursing tasks to promote health, safety, and well‑being
  • Collect specimens for lab work and perform health screenings as needed
  • Perform technical nursing procedures in accordance with applicable regulations and care standards
  • Follow all applicable policies, procedures, and documentation requirements
  • Support direct care staff by providing nursing guidance and instruction as needed
  • Assist with on‑the‑job training for newly assigned nursing and support staff
  • Monitor individual health needs and report changes in condition as appropriate
  • Evaluate nursing interventions and provide input to the healthcare team
  • Assist Registered Nurses with protocols, procedures, and programs that support health and safety
  • Work under the supervision of a Registered Nurse while using sound judgment and initiative within the LVN/LPN scope of practice
