The Shipping Coordinator is an individual contributor responsible for the on-time delivery of $6M – $12M of customer orders per month. This consists of daily communication with multiple sites, Customer Service Representatives, Dispatchers, Supervisors, Managers, and shipping personnel to ultimately ensure that all product is delivered on-time and per the customer’s requirements. When necessary, this position requires interaction with the end-customer on delivery-related topics.

Starting pay range (LG33): $17.50 - $21.92

Rate Is Depending On Experience & Qualifications

Eligible for annual discretionary bonus

• Develop, execute, and modify project plans based on efficiency and customer requirements
• Seek daily communication from upstream departments to ensure product is correctly prioritized
• Expedite orders through shops to achieve on-time delivery of customer product
• Provide estimates and frequent updates in regards to planned ship & delivery dates
• Coordinate required inspections through Quality Assurance for inspected orders
• Coordinate deliveries to align with customer’s receiving yard schedules
• Create, organize, and maintain document libraries
• Review, input and audit data with above-average attention to detail & accuracy

• Coordination of the on-time delivery of product to the customer with involvement of multiple Valmont sites, as well as external vendors to meet the specified delivery date
• Responsible for their own safety, and required to report any unsafe acts or conditions to the appropriate personnel
• Responsible for the quality and integrity of their work, including reporting & data accuracy
• Continuously improve the level of support provided to stakeholders, which ultimately impact the end-customer
• Support the Shipping Scheduler, as well as other administrative tasks within the shipping department (traffic liaison, order clearing, order tracking, invoicing, problem-solving involvement)

MS Office, Outlook, Excel, IFS, TMS

• High School Diploma / GED required
• One (1) year of experience
• Ability to stand, walk, climb stairs and ladders
• Ability to read and decipher blueprints
• Experience and knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word
• Effectively communicate with key personnel via phone, email, and face-to-face
• Possess knowledge of transportation terms & manufacturing processes
• Ability to lift up to 15 pounds, although most frequent lift is up to 10 pounds
• Ability to wear all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when inside the production facility
• Ability to be exposed to outdoors elements for short durations of time
• Passion & integrity with the drive to excel and deliver exceptional results

• Associates or Bachelor’s degree in a related field or 3+ years of experience, within a shipping/logistics coordination role
• Experience with warehouse inventory systems
• Experience with an ERP System (ex. IFS)
• Experience with Traffic Management System
