PrimaryPurpose:
Operate twelve (12) passenger bus and/or other white fleet vehicle and all related equipment to provide safeand orderly transportation for students and other authorized persons to and from schools and other designated locations. This position is for new bus drivers working towards their CDL license and is a temporary assignment until the CDL is obtained.
Qualifications:Education/Certification:
- Clear and valid Texas driver’s license
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- Employee will have 45 days from the time of employment to obtain CDL
Special Knowledge/
Skills:
- Ability to pass alcohol and drug tests and agility test and annual physical
- Ability to complete required bus driver safety training
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
- Ability to manage student behavior
- Ability to operate a motor vehicle

MajorResponsibilities and Duties:
None
Equipment Used: 12‑passenger bus; motor vehicle; two‑way radio; safety equipment including but not limited to flares, reflective signs, and fire extinguisher.
Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors:Tools/Equipment Used: Standard office equipment including personal computer and peripherals
Posture: Prolonged sitting; occasional bending/stooping, pushing/pulling, and twisting
Motion: Repetitive hand motions including frequent keyboarding and use of a mouse; occasional reaching
Lifting: Occasional light lifting and carrying (25 pounds or less)
Environment: May work prolonged or irregular hours; occasional district wide travel. Work outside and inside; moderate exposure to extreme temperatures (hot) and vehicle fumes.
Mental Demands: Work with frequent interruptions; maintain emotional control under stress
Occasional district wide and statewide travel; frequent prolonged and irregular hours.
