Aquatics Instructor

Position Information

The City of Brentwood Parks and Recreation Department is looking for responsible, energetic individuals who enjoy working with young children and are serious about their job. If you are enthusiastic, love children and the water, this could be the perfect job for you! Join our team of aquatics instructors who are dedicated to providing a safe and exciting aquatic experience for participants of all ages and ability levels.

This is a part-time position and hours may vary.

This position does require possession of an American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor Certification or a Lifeguard Instructor Certification and possession of an American Red Cross Adult/Pediatric First Aid/CPR and AED or equivalent at time of hire. Any combination of training and experience that would provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the required qualifications would be:

• Equivalent to the completion of the tenth (10th) grade.

• None required.

• Possession of a valid American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor Certification or a Lifeguard Instructor Certification at time of hire, to be maintained throughout employment.
• Possession of American Red Cross Adult/Pediatric First Aid, CPR, and AED certificates of training, or equivalent, at time of hire, to be maintained throughout employment.

• Department Interview - Applicants possessing these requirements may be invited to interview with the Parks and Recreation Department. The interview will cover elements of the knowledge and abilities identified in the job description.
• Pre-Employment - Applicants who are offered a job will be required to pass a TB and HepB screening through their doctor and will be fingerprinted through the City.
• Onboarding - Applicants who have passed all of the pre-employment requirements will then be given an official start date.
