BH Shared Services (a UHS company) located in Brentwood, TN is currently seeking an experienced Payroll Coordinator to join our established team.
Position SummaryThe Payroll Coordinator processes and reviews all payroll transactions for assigned facilities, including automated time and attendance interface, timesheets, wage adjustments, wage garnishments, benefit deductions, and the input of employee data and payroll calculations necessary for accurate and timely bi-weekly payroll processing.
The Coordinator generates and distributes bi-weekly pay checks or direct deposits, issues manual off-cycle payments as required, and prepares payroll reports for finance, accounting, and HR management teams.
They maintain open communication with UHS, IPM facility management, CFO, and HR departments to resolve payroll-related issues and ensure employees receive accurate and timely pay.
Responsibilities- Process and review payroll transactions, including timesheets, wage adjustments, and benefit deductions; interface automated time records with payroll application or perform manual time entry via interpreting time sheets and Excel spreadsheets.
- Input employee data and payroll calculations accurately and timely for bi-weekly payroll processing; prepare Excel spreadsheet reconciliations and payroll justification reports detailing hours, gross wage calculation, and taxable withholding for each entity processed.
- Generate and distribute scheduled bi-weekly paychecks or direct deposits; process approved manual off-cycle check requests, voids, stop pays, and direct deposit reversals for employees as directed.
- Prepare and distribute bi-weekly reconciliations, payroll, and finance reports to accounting, management teams, and HR.
- Address employee and facility payroll queries regarding hours, salaries, and taxes, resolving discrepancies or issues in a timely manner.

- High school diploma required.
- 1-3 years of payroll processing experience.
- Proficient data entry skills and proven ability to use electronic data processing equipment and payroll/financial software applications.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret payroll reports, payroll-related technical procedures, and governmental regulations.
- Strong financial and math skills.
- Basic proficiency with spreadsheet programs.
- Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Strong knowledge of payroll regulations and best practices.
- Effective communication skills to present information and respond to questions from managers, employees, and external agencies.
