Responsibilities- Plan, develop, and implement the student’s Individualized Education Program (IEP)
- Assist in implementing and assuring the completion of any related services the student might receive as set forth in the student’s IEP
- Meet and instruct assigned classes at the assigned school and at times designated by the Principal
- Plan a program of study that meets the individual needs, interests, and abilities of the students
- Create a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of the students
- Prepare for classes assigned and show written evidence of preparation upon request of principal
- Encourage students to set and maintain high standards of classroom behavior
- Guide the learning process toward the achievement of curriculum goals and establish clear objectives for all lessons, units, and projects
- Employ a variety of instructional techniques and instructional media aligned with location constraints and student needs
- Implement the District's philosophy of education and instructional goals and objectives
- Implement District initiatives pertinent to students’ age, grade, and placement
- Assess student progress regularly and provide progress reports according to district and state policy
- Take necessary precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities
- Maintain accurate, complete, and correct records as required by law and district policy
- Assist administration in implementing policies and rules governing student life and conduct
- Make provisions to be available to students and parents outside instructional hours when required
- Plan and supervise assignments for teacher assistants as needed
- Lead and attend staff meetings/trainings; serve on staff committees
- Maintain professional growth and development for licensure/qualifications
- Maintain and accept responsibility for district-owned assets
- Undergo periodic evaluations according to state and board policy procedures
- Maintain confidentiality
- Regular, dependable in-person attendance is an essential function
- Perform other duties as may be requested by the Board of Education, superintendent, administrator, or district policy
- Read, understand, and abide by all applicable district, state, and federal policies and procedures
- Education Level: Bachelor’s degree in Education
- Certification:
Hold an appropriate Mississippi Teaching Credential or valid emergency certification issued by the Mississippi Board of Education - Other Requirements:
