Senior Electrical Engineer
As part of HDR's Building Engineering Services Group, you will design critical infrastructure for digital‑age facilities, including data centers and commercial environments. Your work will support technological advancement, sustainability, and human experience.
Responsibilities- Coordinate the work of Electrical Engineers with multidisciplinary teams throughout the entire project’s development.
- Establish client relations and participate in marketing, design, and production meetings regarding electrical systems.
- Act as electrical lead on many projects and participate in code compliance reviews with governing agencies.
- Conduct schematic, design development, and contract document work sessions at the project site in conjunction with the Project Manager, Project Architect, and other disciplines.
- Coordinate workload through the development schedule to complete documents on schedule.
- Track financial aspects of projects and adjust work effort to stay within agreed schedule.
- Collaborate with Project Manager and Regional Controller for project reviews with corporate management as needed.
- Direct other electrical engineering professionals and mentor staff members.
- Perform other duties as needed.
- Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Architectural Engineering with an Electrical emphasis.
- Expertise in electrical design for water and wastewater treatment facilities.
- Previous experience with an architectural/engineering consulting firm.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Architectural Engineering with an Electrical emphasis.
- Minimum of 10 years experience in electrical design of buildings (lighting, power, systems).
- Professional engineering license recognized in the location of the position offered.
- Extensive knowledge of building electrical power, lighting and signal design, including life safety systems and building management systems.
- Strong computer knowledge of Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, and electrical design software.
- Commitment to being an active participant of the employee‑owned culture.

Louisville, Kentucky (also potential locations in Tennessee and Kentucky).
