Position OverviewDirect the provision of high-qualitynutrition service sand nutrition promotion and educationforinfants,toddlers, and families. Assists Health/MH/Nutrition Manager in the development and oversight of the Child and Adult Care Food Program application andit’simplementation by providing training and technical assistance to program and center staff.
Collaborate with community partners, parents, and nutrition providers in advancing healthy nutrition awareness and education
This positionalsosupports the provision ofmedical and dental health services for all enrolled children.
Assure compliance with the Head Start Performance Standardspertaining to Healthincludingapplicablestate health regulations. Adhere to best healthcare principles and practices.
Establish/maintain comprehensive recordkeeping and reporting and data collectionsystems. Interaction with children, staff,parents,and the larger community is also required.
Engage in comprehensive, integrated planning with management team:
- todevelop/improve nutrition goals/outcomes that support school readiness.
- to develop/improve the Urban Strategies EHS Holistic Health Care System that integrates nutrition into physical health, oral health, mental healthservicesand safety practices.
- to ensure the implementation of a Nutrition Systemthroughout the program.
- todevelop/improve a holistichealthcaresystem that encompassesphysical health,oral health, nutrition, mental healthservicesand safety practices.
- to ensure the implementation of thehealthcaresystemat each center.
Assist in the development of policies and procedure for the Nutrition System and its implementation.
Assist with the development and administration of the CACFP budget and assures fiscal integrity with the guidance of the Health/MH/Nutrition Manager
Assists with the CACFP annual compliance evaluation
Assist in the assessment of community, program, child,and family health careneeds and available resources.
Assist with the collection of data forthe
Community Assessment.
Assist with the annual program self-assessment and federal onsite review process,focused onthe holistichealthcare system; report on strengths,recommendations, required improvements; implement improvements and recommendations; incorporate into program planning process.
Collaborate with Health/Mental Health Manager and Family/Community Partnership Managerto assure achievement ofnutritionservicesgoals and outcomesforchildren and families.
Collaborates with the Health/MH/Nutrition Manager in the assessment, development, and implementation of a training and technical assistance program for addressing nutritionsafety practices in compliance with Head Start Performance Standards and Child and Adult Care Regulations.
Collaborate with the Health/MH/Nutrition Manager on the assessment of community, program, child, and family nutritional needs and available resources; compile and analyze data, produce reports, assure the integration of children with disabilities, dual language learners, homelesschildrenand children in foster care.
