Job Summary and Qualifications

The GME Undergraduate and Continuing Medical Education Director is responsible for working collaboratively with GME leadership for creating systems and processes, ensuring appropriate communications and maintaining adherence to policies, procedures, and requirements for medical student recruitment and placement and ensuring accreditation for continuing education.

DUTIES INCLUDE BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

Undergraduate Medical Education

* Develop and implement system-wide strategic initiatives and enterprise solutions to align, integrate and expand medical student management and continuing medical education services to appropriate HCA hospitals and practice sites

* Identifies educational priorities, goals and strategies to improve the medical student educational enterprise and enhance the learning environment

* Oversee the medical student compliance process, including logistics and student tracking, compliance with and changes in accreditation requirements and contractual agreements

* Track national trends in medical education in UGME, and implement changes as needed

* Regularly review, and if necessary revise, rotation learning objectives to ensure that they are reflective of content and adequately meet the overall goals and required competencies of the rotation

* Establishes effective collaborative relationships with hospital chief executive officers, chief medical officers, directors of medical education and clerkship and residency program directors.

* Incorporates perspectives and concerns of medical students, residents and faculty relative to the educational enterprise and learning climate in planning learner capacity

* Develop and ensure student marketing for UGME and GME is unified under the HCA GME brand

* Work collaboratively with academic partners to ensure optimal learning environments

Continuing Medical Education

* Identifies educational priorities, goals and strategies to improve the continuing medical education offerings to enhance the learning and clinical environment

* Oversee the continuing medical education accreditation and compliance process, including participant tracking, compliance with and changes in accreditation requirements, outcomes measurements and contractual agreements
