Job Responsibilities
- Performs and documents all radiographic examinations with proficiency, ensuring proper patient positioning, appropriate technique selection, and correct use of digital systems including RIS and Synapse/PACS.
- Verifies patient identity, reviews requisitions and chart orders, and records complete patient history in accordance with ACR standards and departmental policies prior to each procedure.
- Applies radiation safety protocols and adjusts technical factors based on patient anatomy, while ensuring proper anatomical identification and orientation on all images.
- Conducts quality assurance and control activities in compliance with ACR, State Department of Health Services, and other credentialing requirements, utilizing modality QA reports to drive continuous improvement.
- Maintains a safe, organized work environment by assessing patient conditions, applying appropriate support/restraining devices, managing supply inventory, and demonstrating professional, courteous behavior with patients, physicians, and colleagues at all times.
Qualifications
- Successful completion of a radiology program at an accredited school
- Current registration with the American Registry of Radiological Technologists (ARRT)
- State licensure, where required
- BCLS required
- Competency in venipuncture, aseptic technique, universal precautions and documentation, contrast administration, and use of power injector
