Senior Business Intelligence Engineer (Power BI + SQL)

Month Contract-to-Hire | Hybrid in Nashville
$75–$85/hr (W2) | Conversion up to $150K+
Highspring is hiring a Senior BI Engineer to design and deliver scalable Power BI reporting and enterprise data models
. This role focuses on SQL development, semantic modeling, fact/dim design, and turning business logic into actionable data structures
.
- Build efficient data models
, star schemas, and reusable data flows. - Develop high-performance SQL (stored procedures, optimization, data prep).
- Create reliable Power BI dashboards and paginated reports
. - Translate business requirements into clear technical solutions.
- Document measures, logic, and model designs.
- Collaborate with data engineers and stakeholders across the business.
- Ensure data accuracy, quality, and scalability.
- 5+ years BI / analytics experience
- 3+ years Power BI + enterprise data modeling
- Expert-level SQL (must score 90%+ on assessment)
- Strong dimensional modeling (facts/dimensions, semantic layer)
- Ability to read/refactor existing business logic (e.g., legacy code)
- Excellent communication — able to gather requirements from execs
- Strong analytical and problem?solving skills
